Six Nations of the Grand River Territory – Six Nations Elected Council is pleased to annouce the launch of a community engagement process for Niagara Region Wind Project located in the Township of West Lincoln, Town of Lincoln, Wainfleet and Haldimand County.
The project, comprised of 77 turbines, will generate 230MW of energy which will be sold to the Ontario Power Authority under the FIT 1.3 program. The project will be owned and operated by Daniels Power, Enercon Canada Inc and Boralex Inc. The Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation is contemplating a 50% equity ownership of the project.
A community engagement process will run from June 22, 2015 to July 17, 2016. Two meetings will be held to provide the opportunity for community members to recieve project information and discuss with staff from Enercon, Boralex and the Six Nations Development Corporation.
