NEXTERA ENERGY SUMMERHAVEN PROJECT
NextEra Energy Canada owns and operates eight wind projects comprising 615 MW.

NextEra Energy Canada, Summerhaven project is a wind project that is currently operating.
This 124.4 MW project consisting of 59 turbines, is located within the Nanticoke region of Haldimand County. The project is owned and operated by NextEra Energy Canada. The project holds a contract to sell power to the Ontario Power Authority under the Feed in Tariff Program.At the maximum generating capacity, the Summerhaven Wind Energy Centre will produce enough energy for approximately 32,000 homes in Ontario.
Project Status
$435,000 per year for 20 years ($8.7 million)
$15,000 per year for 20 year from the recently established national postsecondary bursary fund to be set aside principally for Six Nations members on a ’first come’ first serve’ basis.
$50,000 for an Eagle and Deer monitoring program, which shall include the cost of construction of up to 5 artificial Bald Eagle nest platforms.

All eight wind projects reached commercial operation by 2015. Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation receives an annual community benefits payment of $435,000 for all projects.
As of 2019, Coredilo Power has purchased 4 projects from NextEra and continue to uphold the community benefits obligations.
