PORT RYERSE WIND PROJECT

Port Ryerse Wind is a 10 MW wind project located east of the hamlet of Port Ryerse in Norfolk County. The project is sited on privately-owned lands where landowners have entered into a lease agreement with Boralex Inc.

Project Information: At Time of Engagement

Royalty Boralex Inc. is developing the Port Ryerse Wind Power Project east of the hamlet of Port Ryerse in Norfolk County. The project was awarded to Feed-In-Tariff contract with the Ontario Power Authority on February 25 2011. The project is 10 megawatts with 4 wind turbines and will be owned and operated by Port Ryerse Wind Farm Limited Partnership.

Project Benefits

Royalty Payment of $750/MW/year plus consumer price index for 20 years (estimated to be $150,000);

  • Mentorship during Small FIT on-reserve solar development; and

  • Execution of an MOU to pursue Joint Venture development of future non-contracted renewable energy projects along the Haldimand Tract; in which Six Nations could potentially own up to 15% in each contemplated project.

Port Ryerse Wind reached commercial operation in November 2016. Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation receives an annual community benefits payment of $750/MW/year plus consumer price index.
